I was recently asked to explain how to create a YouTube account to be able to upload an unlisted video for a class assignment. Here are the procedures for both:
Creating a YouTube Account
To upload videos to YouTube, you must first have a Google account. Either log in with the account you have or you must create one.
- Go to https://www.youtube.com/
- In the upper right corner, click on the “Sign in” button.
- Sign in or select create account link. In the end, you will have a Google account.
Upload an Unlisted Video
Once you have a YouTube account, you can then begin to upload videos. Here are the steps to upload an unlisted video:
- Go to https://www.youtube.com/
- In the upper right corner, click on the “Sign in” button.
- Click on “Upload” button in the upper right corner.
- Click on “Select files to upload”.
- Select your file to upload.
- Change “Public” to “Unlisted”.
- Click on the “Done” button.
Now, you should be able to hand out the link to your video. If you have any questions, please contact me.
