I was recently asked to explain how to create a YouTube account to be able to upload an unlisted video for a class assignment. Here are the procedures for both:

Creating a YouTube Account

To upload videos to YouTube, you must first have a Google account. Either log in with the account you have or you must create one.

1. Go to https://www.youtube.com/
2.  In the upper right corner, click on the “Sign in” button.
3. Sign in or select create account link. In the end, you will have a Google account.

Upload an Unlisted Video

Once you have a YouTube account, you can then begin to upload videos. Here are the steps to upload an unlisted video:

1. Go to https://www.youtube.com/
2.  In the upper right corner, click on the “Sign in” button.
3. Sign in.
4. Click on “Upload” button in the upper right corner.
5. Click on “Select files to upload”.
6. Select your file to upload.
7. Change “Public” to “Unlisted”.
8. Click on the “Done” button.

Now, you should be able to hand out the link to your video. If you have any questions, please contact me.
